Build the series once. Prepare each vehicle with confidence.

When you produce a series of similar vehicles, much of the certificate information stays the same. Entering it again for every vehicle adds work and creates more opportunities for small inconsistencies. A well-prepared template lets your team reuse shared information and spend more attention on the details that actually change.

Give each vehicle group a clear starting point

Build the template around an identifiable vehicle group, with the appropriate approval, category, completion status and shared technical data. Use a name your team can recognise in everyday work. A descriptive name makes selecting the right template easier than relying on a sequence of similar references, particularly as your product range grows.

Decide which information belongs to the series

Shared approval and technical information can form the basis of a template. VINs, dates and values that vary between vehicles still need individual attention. The purpose is to reduce repeated entry, not to assume that every vehicle in a series is identical. Make the distinction clear so that your team knows what can be reused and what must be checked each time.

Understand where TVV fits

If your product range is organised by type, variant and version, the TVV module can help structure the associated CoC information. This gives your team another way to organise vehicle groups within the approval context. The video below introduces the module; it does not demonstrate a completed TVV configuration. The template example in this training series proceeds without TVV.

Review the complete template before activation

Consider the administrative and technical fields together. Axles, dimensions, masses, powertrain, tyres and other applicable information should describe the intended vehicle group consistently. Activating the template makes it available for creating vehicle records. It does not remove the need to review each vehicle or validate its XML output.

Use the template as a starting point for the next vehicle

Your team can now create a draft from the prepared template rather than start with an empty form. Review the individual vehicle details and any differences from the shared specification. When production changes, consider which vehicle group and template are affected before reusing the same information for the next batch.
