Trailer eCoC for O1–O4: Axle, Mass and Configuration Data Checks
Prepare trailer eCoC records with controlled axle, mass, dimension and approval data. An O1–O4 manufacturer checklist covering EU and UK workflow decisions.

A missing approval extension or a mismatch between a vehicle and its approval can hold up work much later in the process. Checking the starting information first helps your team avoid searching for missing documents halfway through preparation. The aim is simple: make sure everyone is working from the right manufacturer, approval and vehicle information.
Review company names, addresses and any applicable representative information against the current records. Do not rely on an older certificate simply because the fields are already filled in. The identity information used later in the signing process also needs attention. Names used in a training demonstration should never replace your company’s actual legal details.
Consider the approval number, relevant extension and vehicle together. Similar commercial names do not necessarily mean two vehicles fall under the same approval. Finding a record in the system is only the first step; confirm that it applies to the vehicle you are preparing.
Compare the make, commercial name and relevant approval details with the source document. Where information is missing, obtain the appropriate source rather than guessing. The video shows the approval-recording process. Once entered, the same approval information needs to remain consistent when it is used in templates and individual vehicle records.
The vehicle category and completion status help determine which information applies and where it comes from. For a completed vehicle, distinguish the base-vehicle information from the data added at the final stage. The M3 completed example in the training series illustrates one workflow; it is not a universal field checklist for every vehicle category.
Before preparation starts, confirm: are the manufacturer details current? Is the correct approval and extension available? Do the make and commercial name match? Are the applicable variant and version identified? Is the completion status clear? Can the technical data be traced to its source? Adapt this list with your technical responsible person for the vehicle scope you actually produce.
We can review one representative vehicle and its approval information with you, then identify what needs to be ready before your template and eCoC workflow begins.
